A Brief History
From Tragedy to Hope
Every strong nonprofit begins with a human story. RVIF's story begins with Queen Georgia T. Nuahn's lived experience of hardship, displacement, and loss, and continues through a clear commitment to ensure vulnerable children and youth are not defined by their circumstances.

The Civil War and a Childhood Marked by Loss
The fourteen years of civil war in Liberia left an indelible mark on one little girl's heart, replacing childhood joys with trauma, tragedy, and displacement. Instead of playful moments in the mud, styling wooden dolls' hair, or playing hopscotch and soccer, she witnessed unimaginable suffering. Hunger and punishment were constant companions, and that childhood void fueled her dream of creating a better future for children who needed safety, care, and someone willing to show up.
A Dream Became a Village
Georgia Nuahn, now a woman, queen, mother, nurse, and humanitarian leader, envisioned a place where vulnerable children could thrive without stigma. She purchased four acres of land in Careysburg, Liberia, to create a welcoming home where children could learn, heal, and grow with dignity. The Royal Village Foundation was born from that vision: a safe haven, a nurturing environment, and a community of belonging.
The village vision includes a school from preschool to ninth grade, six living houses, a gymnasium, a healthcare building, an outdoor playground, a library, and a computer lab. Trained professionals will support children's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual wellbeing, while family visits help maintain connection and a sense of normalcy.
A Local Beginning, an International Mandate
RVIF honors its Liberian roots while carrying a mission that is not limited to one country, continent, or community. The Foundation's work grows from the belief that education is a human right, dignity is universal, and opportunity should reach children and youth wherever poverty, displacement, violence, or lack of access stands in the way of their future.
Georgia's determination and perseverance continue to drive the Foundation's work. What began as a response to personal pain has become a global call to action: to build hopeful futures, strengthen families, expand access to education, and empower young people to become leaders in their communities and across the world.

The Foundation is a beacon of hope for children and families facing poverty, displacement, limited educational access, and social vulnerability. Founded by Georgia Nuahn, a woman with a heart for nurturing and empowering young lives, RVIF works to break the cycle of poverty and provide safe, caring environments where children can thrive and reach their full potential.
Our work is built on a simple conviction: no child's potential should be limited by the circumstances of birth, conflict, poverty, gender, family instability, or geography. Through education, protection, leadership development, and practical community support, RVIF helps young people prepare for meaningful lives of service, excellence, and contribution.

Queen Georgia T. Nuahn
The founder's story is central to RVIF's identity. Her life reflects resilience, service, and the conviction that children who have been left behind deserve more than sympathy. They deserve belonging, opportunity, protection, and a future.
Founder & Executive Director
Georgia Nuahn, known to many as Queen Georgia, did not choose philanthropy as a public image. Service grew from her own childhood story and from the particular suffering that only a child left behind can fully understand.
Born to a single mother who departed early, she was raised by her grandparents in circumstances that offered little comfort and few guarantees. She knew hunger, instability, and the quiet fear of wondering whether anyone would come. It is precisely because of that experience that she now comes for others.
Every residential home envisioned in Careysburg, every scholarship sent across borders, every hand pump serving a community, and every child encouraged to continue learning is part of her answer to the silence she once endured.

A Vision Took Shape
Queen Georgia T. Nuahn began shaping a response to the pain she had witnessed and experienced: a safe, dignified environment where vulnerable children could belong, learn, and grow.
