About This Event

In May 2024, the Royal Village International Foundation carried out a landmark humanitarian outreach focused on newborn babies and postnatal mothers at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, one of Liberias largest referral hospitals.

Led by the Foundations Founder, Georgia T. Nuahn, this initiative was designed to ease the immediate challenges faced by mothers who give birth without access to essential maternal and child-care supplies.

Addressing a Critical Need:
In many parts of Liberia, families especially those from low-income backgrounds struggle to afford basic newborn necessities after delivery. It is not uncommon to see newborn babies wrapped in a single piece of cloth (locally known as a lappa) due to financial hardship. These conditions place additional stress on new mothers at a time when care, comfort, and dignity are most needed.

Recognizing this urgent gap, the Royal Village International Foundation through its pillar dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and parents deemed it both necessary and timely to intervene.

What Was Distributed?
During the outreach, the Foundation distributed a wide range of essential maternal and newborn care items, including baby diapers, baby powder, bathing soap, baby bags, newborn clothing, and other assorted baby and maternal care materials.

These items were carefully selected to support hygiene, warmth, and early child development during the critical postnatal period.

Impact and Beneficiaries:
More than 200 newborn babies and their mothers directly benefited from the donation. Beyond the physical items, the initiative brought relief, reassurance, and hope to families navigating the early stages of parenthood under challenging circumstances.
Hospital staff and beneficiaries alike expressed deep appreciation for the Foundations compassion and commitment to maternal and child welfare.

A Commitment to Humanity:
This outreach reflects the Royal Village International Foundations mission to serve humanity, promote dignity, and improve the lives of underprivileged communities starting from the very first moments of life.

Through initiatives like this, the Foundation continues to demonstrate that meaningful change is possible when compassion meets action.
The Royal Village International Foundation remains committed to expanding its maternal and child health interventions across Liberia and beyond, ensuring that no childs life begins without care, dignity, and hope.
